Year 4 week ending 24.10.19

Year 4 week ending 24th October 2019

This week we have been learning to:

Numeracy – calculate the perimeter of shapes.

Literacy – we have been studying different character in our novel, creating emotions graphs and finding evidence to support our views.

Science – we have investigated sugar levels in different types of drinks.

Expressive arts – Team Roman and Team Celt have been split into sub teams, each writing a verse or chorus to out together to make a rap.

Welsh - we have been focussing on the term "rhaid" meaning must, and the children have made posters about their daily morning routine.

How you can help at home:

Numeracy –  homework has been set on perimeter using my maths.

Science - make a poster to warn people about the dangers of too much sugar on their diet, such as diabetes, damage to teeth etc.

Welsh - try making a sign to put up around school using the term rhaid, for example Rhaid rhoi sbwriel yn y bin.

Humanities / Expressive Arts - below is a selection of tasks linked to our topic.  We would like everyone to try and complete one (or more) and bring in their results to show the class. Be as creative as you can, as there are suggestions from poetry to cooking!

P.E - all kit has been taken home this week, please can you ensure it is back in school on the first day back. We will be trying to go outside as much as possible so please make sure you have a warm jumper and trainers.

Spellings – please remember to practice your spellings. Try writing them and combing them in sentences or even a story to show you understand them.

Have a lovely half term and we cant wait to see what you've made / created at home!
