Homework blog

Good afternoon

Just a gentle reminder about a few activities coming up:

Tomorrow is fancy dress for Children in need with a suggested donation of £1

Wednesday 20th is Unicef child rights day and will be non-uniform. We are asking that pupils wear something blue. This is the same day as our forest school trip.

We are still missing some slips from children for the forest school trip. Can you make sure you provide written permission by Tuesday (It does not need to be the official slip form as long as it contains your child’s name, a signature, an emergency contact number and medical information if applicable.) This is so that your child can take part in the event. Can you also make sure that children come in with full waterproofs, walking boots/wellies and a change of clothes (including socks).

This week we have learned at teen numbers (numbers from 11-19) and  multiples of 5. We also looked at Living and beyond living memory with the children sharing some of their memories in a timeline we have started that stems from WW1 to their memories. We have also started a series of football lessons to remember the Christmas truce of WW1.

For homework I would like the children to interview an older family member about one of their memories. This memory can be anything as long as it is from before they were born to help fill out the timeline. The important detail is the date.

All the best,

The year 1 team.
