Literacy: To use similes and metaphors

Look at the PowerPoint on similes and metaphors. Using Google Classrooms you can click on Google slides then present.

Then use the worksheet.

 

Numeracy

Warm Up: x3 & x6 tables

L.O: To subtract near multiples of 10 mentally

When taking away 9 we can treat it as 10 and add then add 1 to the answer. With 19 make it 20 and take away 1, etc.

So:  56 – 9  will be  56 – 10 = 46 then add 1 one back to the answer which is 47

Science

This can be done over a couple of days as I would like you to freeze water and then melt it. Write down your observations as these things happen. Make a prediction of how long you think it will take for the ice cube or cubes to melt. Record your prediction and the actual time. So you will need a stopwatch app or timer to help you. Please include the scientific words related to the experiment. Remember what kinetic energy is.
