L.O: To subtract near multiples of 10 mentally
This is similar to yesterday's work but this time we are going to add other numbers to help us.
For example: 58 – 16 so I add to make 58 – 20 = 38 then add the 4 you used to make 20 on to the answer. 58 – 16 = 42
Or alternatively if the all columns in first number (58) are bigger than the second number (16) you can take away: 5 – 1 = 4, 8 – 6 = 2
