Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your half term break! On Monday 8th June we are planning a virtual Sports day as stated in the newsletter. Please send over any ideas of races you would like to do and the most popular will be chosen!
Literacy
To understand and use different types of sentences. Use The BBC Bitesize lesson here-
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhh6pg8 work through the videos and activities exploring command sentences, exclamation sentences, questions sentences etc. You may decide to as your child about these before looking at the work. There are 3 different activities for you work through. If your child is finding it tricky, stick to just talking and writing a few different examples of each. This is also good to get them to use their punctuation accurately too.
Maths
To solve problems
On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB are 3 different problems. They each have an easier and harder set. Have a go at working through the problems- don't worry if you find them tricky, just do what you can. The first problem on each is designed for KS1 and the second problems is more KS2- some of you might be able to challenge yourself to solve some of these too!
Please also have a times table test on the 2/5/10 mixed and if confident and able introduce the 3 and 4 too. Set them 20 questions of mixed times tables and see how they get on. You may decide to have a time limit too- rapid recall is what we are aiming for too.
Topic
To make an instrument and compose a piece of music
This will be your work for today and tomorrow. Using The BBC Bitesize lesson work through the activities and videos to make your own instrument out of jam jars. See what you can play! There are a few different instruments you can make if you wish to do so.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zd748xs I want you to practice using your instrument and then compose a piece of music. It may be your own made up composition or you may decide to try and play a tune you already know. It would be lovely if these could be recorded and sent to me for me to see! You can also decorate your instruments.
Enjoy!
