Year 6 Monday 18th May 2020

Good morning Yr6.

This is the last week of online learning before half term and I really can't believe where the time has gone. You have all become amazing at using google classroom and I'm proud of how you've adapted to this way of learning.

Today's tasks are available in Google Classroom from 9am.
Literacy - looking at different authors and texts to celebrate the Hay Literary Festival - this is an ongoing activity throughout the week looking at different authors and text each day.
- completing activities relating to your favourite book eg writing a book review
- spelling test and activities

Maths - Space Investigation - a maths problem solving activity ( this will last 2 days)

Topic - today we launch the Joy of Moving Home a festival, In partnership with the English Football League Trust. We will join 1000s if schools by completing games and activities throughout the afternoon, where the aim is to have fun with your family. All the details you will need are in the document on google classroom- parents please read too.

FOR PARENTS: A key part of this campaign is to raise the awareness of the Home School Festival and the ongoing focus on the health and well-being of school children and their families. Social media will be the key platform for this, so the organisations would like as many of you as possible to post on social media during the afternoon to show your support. The social media guide posted on Google Classroom gives details of the handles and hashtags you will need to use when posting (remember to tag school in your posts as well so we can see what you've been up to!)

Also continue with your daily activities for 10 to 15 minutes including spelling journals, times tables and reading.

Please send me any learning or questions via my email or on google classroom. I'm looking forward to reading the Space Poems from Friday which I haven't managed to look at as I was working in our hub school.

Take care and stay safe.

Mrs Cotton
