Year 4 w/c 01.06.20
It seems incredible that we are in our last half term of the school year. It has definitely been a strange one but you have all coped so well with our online learning. We hope you all enjoyed the sunshine over the holiday and are ready to start again.
Sports Day
Today is the last day to give me your ideas for our sports day. It is an amazing event which always marks the end of our school year and just because we are not in school doesn't mean we should miss out on this fun day. Each class will choose one activity for everyone to compete in, so in total there will be seven activities. For each activity you enter you will be given a point, giving each child a maximum of seven points they can earn for their house. You will need to send a video/photograph to your class teacher (either email or google classroom) to show you completed the activity. I will then tally up the points for the WHOLE school to find out the winning house! Sports Day will take place on Monday 8th June.
Numeracy
Maths for this week is all about designing an aquarium! I have put everything you need on google classroom and the tasks are designed to take you a week. I suggest you do one task per day (the same as a lesson). I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Literacy
Literacy this week has a hedgehog theme and your task today will be researching them and grouping your information. All instructions are on google classroom.
Topic
Our new topic is nature and wildlife. Head to google classroom for your topic activities which include making a nature mandala and a pitfall trap!
30 days wild challenge
We are taking part in the Wildlife Trusts' 30 days wild challenge. There are lots of suggestions and ideas for things you can do at home in your garden, when out walking etc. Full instructions and resources are on google classroom.
Joy of Moving
Don't forget you can still take part in the joy of moving that we started before half term. All the instructions are on google classroom.
Spellings
These will be set on a Monday – learn them throughout the week and then get somebody at home to test you on a Friday. I would really like to know your scores if you want to put them on the stream for google classroom.
Welsh for the week
Using all of the work you have completed on animals, we would like you to create a movie about your pet. Don't worry if you don't have a pet, you can use a soft toy instead. All the information and vocabulary are on our google classroom.
Stay safe, look after your families, and enjoy your learning!
