Literacy
To find out and present information about Martin Luther King
Using The BBC Bitesize lesson
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhry382 read through the information all about Martin Luther King. If you have any other resources/ information you would like to use then please do. There is a reading comprehension activity on this page, like the ones you have completed before. This would be useful to do to ensure your child has some understanding and has retained some information. There is also a fun activity jigsaw on there. I have also added onto the Year 2 shared folder on HWB a writing frame for the children to use/ or look at for help to do some writing about Martin Luther King, extracting the main information and any interesting facts etc.
The reading comprehension has a bronze, silver and gold level within it. You may of course decide to present this information in some other way- video/ animation/ powerpoint/ poster/ poem etc.

Maths
To solve problems and apply maths skills
First of all spend some time learning your xtables. This maybe through a mini test, a mini challenge as carried out before or even on TT blast on HWB or Hit the button on Topmarks website. Focus on 2/5/10 in and out of order confidently. Once confident move onto your 3 and 4 xtable.
You will carry out again another 'Mystery of the missing...' These are useful as they allow your child to cover various maths skills in different ways-applying them to problems. You may choose to complete as many as you wish but they can be found on the Year 2 shared folder on HWB with the following levels-

Bronze- Mystery of the missing pencil case
Silver- Mystery of the missing emoji
Gold- Mystery of the missing story ending

Topic
To design and make an animal mask
Carrying on from yesterday. First of all have a look at some different mask designs. They come in various shapes and sizes. On the  Year 2 shared folder on HWB are some different templates you may wish to look at and use.  First of all design your mask. Think about what woodland animal you would like to be and design how your mask will look. You may choose to look online at some ideas once you have chosen your animal. Think about the materials and colours you will need. You may have to think about what resources you have at home available. A piece of card/ paper/ cardboard from a cereal box will do the trick for the Mask itself. Then you may need some wool/ string/ elastic to go around your head. Design your mask on a sheet of paper first, labelled clearly with the materials you will be using, including colouring it in. Then once you have designed it you can start to think about making it with your materials. I would love to see some photos of these!
