To create a menu
What is a menu? Why do we have them? What sort of information is included on them? Think about menus in restaurants and cafes- very often they will have a description about the food you are ordering. Have a look at some menus online if you are unsure.Thinking about the party food you will provide for your part on Friday, create a menu with descriptions about each item. e.g. if you are having crisps, what flavours will be on offer? If you are having sandwiches, what fillings will there be? What bread will it be swerved on? Will there be a side of salad or crisps with it? Try to make it sound tasty and inviting, see what descriptive words or alliteration you can add in to your menu. You want people to look at the menu and think yum, this sounds delicious!
Maths
To solve cryptograms
A cryptogram has a different number for each letter of the alphabet. Your activity today involves questions and facts about the war but you need to solve the cryptogram to get the answer. On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB are the activity sheets. There are 3 different levels within the activity booklet. Please feel free to work through them all as some involve calculations and some are simply finding the letter and number.
Topic
To design a commemorative mug
What does it mean to have a commemorative item? When or why do people have them? Have a look at some examples online to help you. Design your own mug to commemorate/ celebrate/ remember the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Below are some examples. You may like to put the date on the mug as well as the fact it is the 75th anniversary of VE Day. On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB is a mug template if you wish to use it. If you are lucky enough and have or can get hold of a certain mug you may even wish to paint your design onto the mug! A lovely keepsake.
Enjoy!
