I hope you enjoyed your work yesterday, it was lovely to see the activities you completed yesterday- well done. The birds in our area are going to well fed this weekend!
Literacy: Big Write- to write an Information text about Birds in your Garden or Area
Carry out some research on a bird of your choice. You can use books if you have on Birds, Hwb Encyclopedia Britannica, National Geographic (Just2Easy) or Kiddle (safe google search for Kids).
Bronze: Use the provided template to describe your chosen bird.
Silver: Complete the provided template or design your own and describe at least 2 birds.
Gold: Complete the provided template or design your own to create a Bird Book- can you include an appendix and/ or glossary in your book?
This can be completed in your book, paper or using Just2easy. In Jit5 you are also able to select the 'mix' tab which allows the children to complete the task in a book format. If the amount of writing is challenging, click the microphone button above the 'page' and the children can record their information if typing/ writing lots of their work discourages their enthusiasm!
Enjoy this- I'm looking forward to reading about all the birds in our area.

Numeracy:
Today I have been able to add the Big Maths Challenges to our Class Folder within our Hwb Classroom. There are 3 available: Clic, Learn Its and Safe- we usually complete CLic and Learn Its in Week One and SAFE during Week 2, so please don't feel you need to do them all today. They are there to check how the children are doing and identify any gaps in learning, so let them try on their own. The Learn Its should be completed in less than 2 minutes as it checks our recall of known number facts. I have also added an editable version to save you printing them off it helps. If you have any problems accessing them, please let me know and I can email them to you- (peacockk2@hwbcymru.net).
