Year 6 Monday 4th May 2020

Good morning,

Here we are at the start of a new week and I'm sure you're ready for some new activities. As you are probably already aware Friday 8th May is the 75th anniversary of VE Day and this is a Bank Holiday. So we are taking a break from our Space topic and the activities this week will be linked to VE Day with the idea of hopefully having your own 'stay at home' VE party or picnic on Friday.

Literacy - become a VE Day history detective
weekly spelling test and new spellings
Numeracy - to read scales on drawings accurately

Topic has been planned with yr4, 5 and 6 and activities are based around VE Day. We have made four VE based topic activities for you to complete in any order. They consist of making a peg plane, designing a commemorative mug, designing and making bunting and using your knowledge of forces for science. There may also be other activities added during the week in the build up to VE Day to keep you busy.

Try and remember to complete your 15 minute daily activities of reading, spelling journals and times tables.

Take care and stay safe.
