Literacy
To plan ideas and perform a debate
This will be your Literacy for today and tomorrow. What is a debate? Chat about the features of a debate- sides for and against and argument with reasons why. Try to persuade people to side with your arguments/ points/ thoughts. Your debate will be,
'A good circus must have performing animals.'
Think about whether or not you agree with this. You may be strongly for or against this or you maybe a bit of both. Plan down your ideas for and against this- there is a powerpoint and planning sheet on the Year 2 shared folder on HWB if you wish to use it. You may decide to ask someone in your family to join in and you can have the debate together. Once you have planned your ideas and reasons why I want you to carry out an oracy activity including listening skills where you discuss the points/ thoughts made. You can record these if you like as I would love to see them! Good luck and happy debating!

Maths
To measure in ml and l
Using the 2 BBC lessons which can be accessed here
what are millilitres and litres? What do you know that is measured in these? Do you know how many ml is in a l? Look at some containers around the home and experiment with this. You may even like to make this practical by using a measuring jug and filling it and pouring it etc. Once you have done this work through the above videos and activities on the BBC websites.

Topic
To create and play a recycled circus game
Today and tomorrow I would like to you to make and play a recycled circus game called, 'Ring toss.' This can be found on the Year 2 shared folder on HWB. You will need to make the resources by following the instructions and then wait for them to dry before playing. Have a go at choosing your own scoring system and even add in some of your own rules if you wish. I look forward to hearing and seeing how this goes.

Enjoy!
Mrs. Hassall
