Literacy: Big Write cont. from Yesterday
We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen
Over the next two days we're going to read the story, write and perform our own version of the story 'We are Going on a Bear Hunt'
Read your own version of the story (if you have a copy at home), or you can listen to the version within our folder that I have recorded for you! There is also a version using the following link with the story read and performed by the author Michael Rosen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gyI6ykDwds
Create your own version of the story using onomatopoeia and same style as the story but add your own ideas and places you can visit on your bear hunt in your garden.
Challenge: Video/ record your performance. It would be great to see some of your versions with some additional characters from your family if you have any willing actors!
(Onomatopoeia: a word which imitates the natural sounds of a thing. It creates a sound effect that mimics the thing described, making the description more expressive and interesting e.g. squelch, squerch).
Bronze: to sequence your own version of the story.
Silver: To sequence your story including onomatopoeia and simple sentences.
Gold: to include onomatopoeia throughout your version of the story
I'm so looking forward to seeing some of your work- I am hoping to find a way to share it with Michael Rosen himself!
RWInc will continue to have live lessons via YouTube so they will help us keep our 'sounds on the boil' whilst we are at home. These will take place daily and can be located via the following link:
Speed Sounds 1, 2 and 3 are now being repeated so please allow a moment at the start of the lesson to allow them to reload.
Numeracy:
Today I have been able to add the Big Maths Challenges to our Class Folder within our Hwb Classroom.
There are 3 available: Clic, Learn Its and Safe- we usually complete CLic and Learn Its in Week One and SAFE during Week 2, so please don't feel you need to do them all today. You will find Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels for you to try.
They are there to check how the children are doing and identify any gaps in learning, so let them try on their own. The Learn Its should be completed in less than 2 minutes as it checks our recall of known number facts. I have also added an editable version to save you printing them off it helps. (In the pupil folder on Just2easy). If you have any problems accessing them, please let me know and I can email them to you- (peacockk2@hwbcymru.net).

Today is Plastic Bag Free Day.
Plastic Bag Free Day is a global initiative that aims to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags in the world.
To promote this design a poster, record a short film or write a short blog telling people why they should not use plastic bags! You could use your imagination on how you present your information. Use a bag shape poster, use a suitable alternative material to present your work on. Don't forget to send your work and we will share your important message and display around the school and community.
Well done for another fantastic week and it was lovely seeing some of you this week. Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
