Literacy
To create a comic strip
You will be using the 'Literacy Shed' resource today watching 'Pigeon Impossible.'
https://www.literacyshed.com/pigeon-impossible.html Before watching it, discuss and predict what you think it will be about based on the title. Watch the video 2-3 times- the first time to simply watch it, the second to start to discuss what is actually happening and why, linking to your predictions and lastly to ensure the story has been fully understood. Think about the main parts of the story. You can either create a comic strip/ story board/ animation to sum up the story.

Bronze- create 3-4 boxes/ frames to re-tell the story
Silver- create 4-6 boxes/ frames to re-tell the story
Gold- create 6-8 boxes/ frames to re-tell the story

Of course you can create more boxes/ frame if you wish

Maths
To time and record events
When is it useful to time things? What do we use to time things? What examples can you think of where you are times or have seen results of being timed? Recap to ensure children are confident with how many seconds in a minute. Using a stopwatch- this can be on phones or iPads if need be I want you to time and record some different things. I want you to time and record-
How long it takes you/  family members to write your first name 10 times
How long it takes you/ family members to write out the 2xtable in full e..g 1x2=2 up until 12x2
How long it takes you/ family members to jump up and down 50 times.
Write down the times- discuss which was the shortest time and longest time and write them down in order.
Create your results in a table stating the winner of each activity. Think of your own activities/ races you can have to time people and record and compare

Topic
To make a nature inspired structure
Using lego/ wooden blocks/ straws or sticks or any other resource you have make a nature inspired structure- this could be an animal/ bird/ tree/ forest scene etc. Why not make a large one with a family member or have a competition to see who can make the best one.

Please let me know if you have any preference to certain activities in terms of ease/ access to recourse/ engagement etc or if you/ your child have any exciting ideas you would love to share and have a go at please let me know!

Enjoy
