Literacy
To plan, create and act out your own version of ' We're going on a bear hunt'
This is the last day for this, carrying on from yesterday. I want you to plan some ideas, write your own story and then act out your story- be as creative as you like with props/ characters etc.  I want you to think over the story of ' We're going on a bear hunt' and I want you to turn it into your own adventure with your family and friends. What hurdles might you come across? What things will you find? Where will you explore? What prepositions will you use?- over/ under/ through/ around etc. What will your surprise be at the end? You may decide to add in some extra information/ parts to the story. Make it exciting and think about the descriptions you can use to describe what is happening and what characters look like. Onomatopoeia is another thing to consider- squash/ bang/ squelch etc. If you don't want to act it out you could read it aloud or you could use story stones or soft toys etc. I have seen some amazing work so far so please send them in! If you have completed this, why not take some time to read some of your favourite books in a quiet place- maybe you could design a new front cover, a new character, create character profiles- what is a certain character like/ hobbies/ appearance etc.

Maths
To explore units of measurement
On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB is a booklet made up of a variety of activities linking to measuring e.g. weighing/ estimating and measuring/ larger and smaller/ money/ time/ temperature etc.  You may also decide to add some of your own practical ideas too- let the children weigh different objects so they get an idea of how big/ heavy things are.
Please use Topmarks or HWB to play some fun interactive games to consolidate learning and times tables if you have completed the work set.

Topic
To design and make your own animal/ woodland creature
Think about all the different animals that live within the woodland/ forest habitat. What do they tend to look like? How do they tend to move? What are they helpful for? What do they do to annoy people? What do they survive on? etc. Carrying on from yesterday, I want you to design and make your own animal/ creature. You may take ideas from creatures and animals already out there but try to think of your own name for it including how it moves/ looks/ what it survives on/ what it is useful for/ will it annoy people in any way? You can make it out of whatever you like.
You may choose to make an animation with it showing how it fits into their habitat.

Enjoy!
Mrs. Hassall
