Literacy
To explore nonsense poetry
What do you think nonsense poetry is? Do you know any examples? Discuss the different types of poetry that they may know- rhyming/ acrostic etc.
On the BBC site work through the videos, examples and activities to understand nonsense poetry and try to write your own!

Bronze- use on the 'Ning nang Nong' format and change the last words
Silver- use on the 'Ning nang nong' as inspiration but use your own ideas
Gold- try to include rhyming

Maths
To understand and explore symmetry/ to understand 3d shapes
Yesterday you would have had a little insight into symmetry within the 2d shape work. Recap what symmetry is? What examples can you find around the house or outside of items that are symmetrical? On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB are some activities looking at lines of symmetry, drawing symmetrical shapes and a symmetry quiz powerpoint.  Once you have done this you can access the BBC site to work through activities linked to 3d shapes. What examples of 3d shapes can you find within the house and outdoors?

Topic
To learn about the parts of the body and senses
Using the BBC lesson work through the activities and information. Before doing so, what different parts of the body do you already know? What are the purposes/ functions of these parts? Look at internal and external body parts. You may decide to draw around yourself- a real life person and label each of the body parts!

Below is a link to activities/ competition linked to cricket. It is a skills competition with chances to win tickets for  a T2O match. You don't have to enter but the skills would be good to develop and practise 🙂 Please do let me know if you enter!

Enjoy!
