Year 4 w/c 27.4.20

Year 4 w/c 27.4.20

Hopefully you are all enjoying our new topic of Blast off: A journey into space.  We have been amazed at the quality of the work you are producing!

Numeracy

This week our maths is split into two sections. Firstly, we will be concentrating on factors and following that it will be subtraction. For Monday's work, make sure you watch the video and go through the PowerPoint before you start the work as it will help you understand what factors are.

Literacy

Today's task is to find the features of a non-chronological report.  As with the maths, make sure you work through the PowerPoint first before getting started on the task itself.  Mrs Phillips has put detailed instructions on what you need to do on google classroom.

Please also remember the importance of reading daily, both independently and to someone else in your house (when they have time to sit quietly with you).

Topic

We have put five topic activities for the week on google classroom. Take a look at the activity overview for instructions on how to complete your topic activities.  This week you have two health and well-being tasks, humanities is to plan a journey to the moon, scratch coding for Science and Technology and space art by Peter Thorpe.

Spellings

These will be set on a Monday – learn them throughout the week and then get somebody at home to test you on a Friday. I would really like to know your scores if you want to put them on the stream for google classroom.

Welsh for the week

Your Welsh this week is on google classroom. One star is bronze, two stars is silver and three stars is gold.  Using the pictures and the descriptions, you need to match the description to the picture. To help you, please use the vocabulary from last week.

Stay safe, look after your families and enjoy your learning!
