Year 6 Wednesday 22.4.20

Good morning Yr6, it is lovely to see you engaged with your learning, thank you for sharing with me.

As usual the activities for today will be available from 9am on Google Classroom where there will be full instructions and any resources you may need.

Numeracy - solving problems using percentages - this is on my maths so remember to check out as I am unable to see your score if you don't.

Literacy - creating a mindmap on Space and completing a Space quiz (answers tomorrow!)

Today there is a link on Google Classroom for Space lesson provided by BBC Daily lesson - this is a Yr6 lesson which you can do in addition to the other activities above if you wish. These are new and it will be interesting to see if you enjoy them so let me know what you think.

All the weekly topic activities are still available on Google Classroom- these can be completed throughout the week - try and complete 1 a day

Health and Well-being - create a yoga routine. Keep a fitness diary.
ICT - Online safety
Humanities - timeline linked to space travel
Science and Technology - keep a moon diary
Music - see assignment on Yumu

If you have completed your Thank you letter please hand in or email me as I can then forward via email to local key workers.  I have had some lovely ones already which have been gratefully received.  Also a friend of mine who runs a company providing carers for the elderly has asked if we would like to make/draw rainbows.  You can email me these too and I will email them on to let them know we appreciate all the work they are doing everyday.  If you want to post I can provide an address - just send me an email.

If possible I would also like you to spend at least 10 minutes per day on j2blast or Topmarks Hit the Button to really become confident with your times tables. Please also continue with daily reading and spelling journal activities - at least 10 to 15 minutes of each if possible.

Today have a go at handwriting 3 interesting sentences using the words rainbows, carers and safe.

Remember to try and take some time to enjoy the sunshine in your garden or during your daily outside activity.

As always if you have any difficulties or any questions then please send me an email or a comment.

Take care,

Mrs Cotton
