Year 4 w/c 29.06.20
Welcome to another week of distance learning! We hope you had a good weekend and are ready to go again! We know that some of you will be popping to school this week for your catch-up sessions, so we hope that goes well for you. For the days you are not in school, or for those children who aren't attending school, just carry on as much as possible with the online learning.
Mrs Maunder is in school this week, so won't be able to answer and reply to messages/emails etc during the day. So please be patient if you need anything! Mrs Phillips will do her best to reply throughout the day.
We are going to start another mini-topic this week and for the remaining few weeks based on 'Ancient Egypt.' We hope you enjoy it!
Numeracy
Literacy
We are starting a project this week about persuasive travel brochures, following on from our work on persuasive adverts last week. Today is all about identifying the language features used, e.g pronouns and adjectives. All instructions and resources are on google classroom.
Topic
There are lots of activities for you to do this week:
Humanities – map work and hieroglyphics
Science / Tech – making an Egyptian reed boat and model Shaduf.
Expressive Arts – Egyptian jewellery and drawing an Egyptian scarab beetle
Health and Well Being – unusual sporting activities
See our google classroom for full instructions.
Spellings
These are your spellings for the week– learn them throughout the week, using spelling journal activities and then get somebody at home to test you on a Friday. I would really like to know your scores if you want to put them on the stream for google classroom.
Welsh for the week
We will be carrying on with our Welsh book "Karabo." Choose your level, using the stars as the guide, *, **, or ***. You won't be able to edit the document, so print or write it out.
We hope your 'catch up' sessions go well and you have a great week!
Take care,
Mrs Maunder and Mrs Phillips
