Literacy

To use verbs

Using BBC daily lesson here https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z8d6wnb work through the activities and videos finishing with the karate cats game at the end. Before doing so, recap verbs, adjectives, nouns, adverbs. See how confident you child is with giving examples of these. Work through each activity, it also includes past tense. You may also decide to talk about and complete some of the activities for the different tenses. What does past/ present future tense mean? What examples are there? How do we know if it is in past/ present/ future tense?

Maths

To measure length and height

Discuss how certain things are measured in certain units for example we would usually use metres to measure larger things and cm for smaller things. Discuss how many mm are in 1 cm and how many cm are in 1 m. You may also decide to do some conversions between mm cm an m so the children get familiar with this. Talk about which units of measurement are bigger e.g. we would measure distance in miles usually- we wouldn't use cm.

Welsh

To write about myself 

Recapping the basic welsh, write as many different sentences as you can about yourself. This can include your name/ age/ live/ likes/ dislikes/ what you wear/ eye and hair colour/ where you went and who with/ the weather. On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB is the crib sheet to help you and with an example piece of work. Draw a picture to go with what you have written. We will look at French in the week and will start to look at how similar languages are.
