Matching letters
This activity to complete over the week.
If you have some bottle tops, please could you write m n o p q r s M N O P Q R S on each top, then have a go during the week to match the small case letter to the capital letter. Explain to your child that they have a capital letter at the beginning of their name and when we write a sentence. Can you think of anyone that has one of these letters at the beginning of their name?
Literacy

Sentence- Make the sentence easier if required.
Rub a dub dub, went the cat. I wish I had a soft bed. (Don't worry at this stage using speech marks). Don't forget to encourage your child to read the sentence back to you.

Subtraction to 10. Having them grouped in 10's is helpful.
Teen numbers
Begin to count larger numbers of objects.
Practise counting up to 50 and then build up to 100. Quick fire questions- Can you find 43? 67? 25? Etc. What number comes after 34? Before 56 etc.
All Children- Chalk tens numbers outside 10-100. Shout out a number for your child to jump on. Can your child order these numbers with F/C?
Most Children- - Use your fingers to count in 10's. Each finger represents a 10. Play a game where you hold up 3 fingers and your child says 30. Repeat with other numbers. Can you find 30 on the number square?
Challenge- Make a 100 square with some missing numbers. Make sure some of the 10's numbers are missing too. Then ask you child to complete the missing numbers.
Topic- Over the week.
Last week I asked you to identify some wild flowers. I know lots of you have worked really hard to find various species. It's surprising how many we can find in our own garden. Did you find a buttercup, daisy, dandelion, cow parsley, cornflower, bird's foot trefoil, knapweed, cowslip, and nettle-leaved bellflower? There are so many more too.

Now the activity we are going to do now is for Father's Day next Sunday. You can also send one to your grandad, uncle etc. You can do this digitally or by drawing- Whatever you choose it will be treasured forever by the person you give it too.
Digitally
Can you take some really close up photos of some wildlife? It could be a spider's web, a snail, a busy bee on a flower or any wildflower. Then if you print these photos off and glue them on to a piece of A4 card. Punch 2 holes at the top and thread some string, ribbon or wool so it can be hanged in a favourite place. On the back, of your collage, you can write a lovely message. Don't forget to record at the bottom- Lockdown 2020.
To make this by drawing
If you get a piece of A4 paper and fold to make 8 rectangles, just like we did when we make a Kandinsky painting. Then sketch and colour eight pieces of wildlife as above. Then glue your completed drawings on a piece of A4 card and follow the instructions as above. This will be adored and admired for a very long time. Let me know how you get on.
Creative- This can be completed over the week, so take your time and complete the steps carefully
Make a Father's Day card in the style of Kandinsky. Shhhhhh
You can always make one for someone special in your life too.
So if you get a piece of A4 paper and trim about a centimetre from around the edge and fold in half. Then cut into 2 pieces. 1 of these pieces will be to write your special message inside the card. After that make up some watery paint and wash over one of the pieces of paper- remember not to wet the paper too much otherwise it will rip. When the paint is dry, make a big tree with a truck and spirally branches. Perhaps you can model one so your child understands the expectations. Now you can paint this any colour you like. The next stage is to paint some Kandinsky circles on a separate piece of card- say about 10 circles. But it depends on the size of each circle how many you use. I'm going to suggest card only because paper can curl when it's cut out. When you create these circles, don't forget to have a go at mixing various colours just like a real artist. Make the coloured circles of different sizes but not too big as they are going to be stuck on the tree. So say about 3cm-4cm diameter max. Remember the circles with have various colours just like Kandinsky. Now you can glue the piece of paper with the trunk on, onto a piece of folded A4 card. When the Kandinsky circles are dry, cut them out and stick randomly on the spirally branches. It's okay for them to overlap off the edge of the card. On the other piece of paper you have, you can get your child to write a special message which can then be glued into the card. Remember to draw lines for your child to write so their letters can be formed correctly. On the back of the card write- In the style of Kandinsky. Lockdown 2020.

Mind Bubbles
Sit mindfully, with your spine straight and body relaxed.
Imagine you are holding a bubble wand.
Breathe in deeply, then breathe out as if you are blowing a bubble through the wand.
Breathe in again and notice your worry. Imagine what it looks like.
Breathe out and blow your worry through your bubble wand. Imagine it forming a bubble.
Imagine the bubble pops and disappears.
Keep blowing out worries until you feel ready to go on with your day.

Repeat with other colours and swap over to use different language patterns.
