Year One: Friday 26th June

Health and Well Being inc Literacy

As we are now beginning to think about returning to school for our 'Check In Sessions' I think it is important to think carefully about our feelings as we have experienced many changes during this time and got used to new routines and had many different experiences Spend some time talking to someone about how you are feeling- what you have enjoyed about lockdown? What have you not enjoyed/ missed during this time? You could make a poster showing two images about the positive experiences and two negative experiences you have had during this time. It is important to acknowledge both the positive and negative experiences we have missed during this time. I'll add mine to our folder as an example.

Write a letter to a friend or teacher in school telling them why you like them, what you have missed about them during this time you are welcome to. If you place them in the drop off box on your arrival, we will distribute them safely later in the week.

Finally, before some of us return for our Check-In Sessions next week, take some time to think about making the transition back to school. You will have spent all of this time at home with your family and this will be the first time you will have left them since we were last in school. As we are limited to only bringing our lunch and a drink to school for each of our sessions, you might like to think about how we can be connected to our family while we are at school.

Some ideas might include:

A painted pebble that you decorate to give to your adult so that you know they have a special part of you with them- even while you are at school.

A smell that reminds you of your loved one- a dab of perfume/ aftershave on your sleeve will keep a loved one with you all day, even when you are with us in school.

A small heart/ dot on your wrist shows a loved one is with you giving hugs throughout your school session

Today I have added the Big Maths Challenges to our Class Folder within our Hwb Classroom as well as within Just2Easy.

There are 3 available: Clic, Learn Its and Safe- we usually complete CLic and Learn Its in Week One and SAFE during Week 2, so please don't feel you need to do them all today. You will find Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels for you to try.

They are there to check how the children are doing and identify any gaps in learning, so let them try on their own. The Learn Its should be completed in less than 2 minutes as it checks our recall of known number facts. I have also added an editable version to save you printing them off it helps. (In the pupil folder on Just2easy).  If you have any problems accessing them, please let me know and I can email them to you- (peacockk2@hwbcymru.net).

Don't forget to continue your 30DaysWild activities over the final weekend and let us know what you do Have fun, we hope the sun shines for you all!

Enjoy your weekend, stay safe and we look forward to seeing some of you next week!
