Year 3 Distance learning day 4

Literacy:

These activities should take around 50 minutes to 1 hour.

Practise this week's spellings using spellamedoodle. Just a reminder:

Draw a squiggly line with peaks and troughs and write the word on it as many times as you can. Then move on to the next word.

In readiness for tomorrow's Big write: Plan a short mystery story using your own imagination based on the picture below. Why are you going there? What do you find? Are you with someone? Is it a quest?

Normally in class we list some words to do with the 5 senses such as what we can see, hear, etc as well as any other useful vocabulary.

Success Criteria: It must include description, past tense, third person, paragraphs and a mystery.

1. Scruffy the dog ate 67 bones and then an extra 34 bones. How many bones did Scruffy the dog eat?

 

2. My dad gave me 36p and my mum gave me 66p. How much do I have altogether?

 

3. There are 59 ants marching in a line. 34 ants join the line and start marching. How many ants are marching in total?

 

4. There are 31 apples and 49 pears in the bowl. How many fruits are there in total?

 

5. There are 36 ducks and 35 swans on a lake. How many birds all in all?

 

7. Martha starts with 17 cards. She gets 48 cards from Emily. How many cards does Martha end up with?
