Year 5 18.05.20

Our final week of online learning before half term - where has the time gone!

Today's tasks are available in Google Classroom from 9am.
Literacy - looking at different authors and texts to celebrate the Hay Literary Festival.
Maths - Superhero Rescue Mission!
Welsh - write a script and film your own gardening show.

Spellings for the week are uploaded today - remember to learn, and ask someone at home to test you at the end of the week. Well done to those of you who are learning more difficult spellings than normal and getting great scores!

Topic - In partnership with the English Football League Trust, a 'Joy of Moving' festival has been planned for this week. As many children are unlikely to get to have fun at Sports Day this year, the festival provides lots of games and activities for the whole family to get active and have an afternoon of fun at home. All the details you will need are in the document attached.

FOR PARENTS: A key part of this campaign is to raise the awareness of the Home School Festival and the ongoing focus on the health and well-being of school children and their families. Social media will be the key platform for this, so the organisations would like as many of you as possible to post on social media during the afternoon to show your support. The social media guide posted on Google Classroom gives details of the handles and hashtags you will need to use when posting (remember to tag school in your posts as well so we can see what you've been up to!)

Keep going with j2blast to develop  quicker recall of times table/ division facts, which will make your other Maths work much easier!!

Please also continue with daily reading - at least 10 to 15 minutes a day ideally. This could be a book, a magazine, a newspaper or even a website such as Newsround.
