Receptin Home Learning 29.4.20

Reception Class Wednesday 29th April

To the Parents and children of Reception Class.

Good Morning and hope you are all safe and well.

Literacy

Mrs Garbett's Group.

Recap previous sounds.

New sound- ou (shout it out).

out, shout, loud and mouth

Sentence- I will fix him. This is his pet dog.

Only do 1 sentence if struggling. It's best to do one well than struggle with 2. Also don't forget to do a line of 1 letter that your child might be forming in correctly.

Mrs Evans group.

Recap previous sounds.

New sound- oo (poo at the zoo)

zoo, mood, fool and moon

Sentence- Get me a doll. Get me a cat with a hat.

Only do 1 sentence if struggling. It's best to do one well than struggle with 2. Also don't forget to do a line of 1 letter that your child might be forming in correctly.

Mrs Miles group.

Recap previous words- about 4.

We will practise all of word time 5- red, jog, vet, yum, wish, run, jet, yap, web, wet, rat, jam, yes, win and sock.

Write this sentence for child to write underneath- I like jam. It is yum. Don't forget to help you child read this sentence three times. Perhaps you could have a go at dictating one of these sentences for your child to write independently.

Don't forget the- high frequency words. Perhaps learn 3 or 4 a week and just keep recapping.

I  go  come  went  a  was  look  there  are  we  and  me  like  going  she  they  my  see  on  away  this  play  no  yes  for  can he  am  all  you  said  to  day  there

Numeracy

Number bonds

Count to 30 or beyond if you can.

Keep doubles on the boil up to 10.

All Children-Show 10 pegs on a hanger if you have 1. Partition into 9 and 1. Turn the coat hanger round to show that 9 and 1 makes 10 and so does 1 and 9. Repeat for 8 and 2, 7 and 3, 6 and 4 and 5 and 5. Your child closes their eyes whilst you hide 3 pegs. Your child opens their eyes, Show me 10 fingers. Now show me how many pegs you can see on the coat hanger. How many fingers are folded down? That's how many are hiding. Show your child the number of pegs you have hidden. Repeat with other numbers. This is quite a tricky concept.

Most Children- Draw some ladybirds with spots on each side that add up to 10.

Challenge- Find ways of splitting 10 pennies between 2 purses.

Topic

Senses

Continuing from yesterday, encourage your child to take an object and use their senses to describe an object for you to guess what it is. Perhaps your child can use some interesting descriptive words. What does it smell like? Feel like? Does it make a noise? etc.

Creative

Continue to add detail to make your wind chime. On your daily exercise you could collect some more materials. I would love to see the completed chime.

Yoga

Tree

I send roots down deep into the earth- Stand in mountain pose.

I am focused and stable- Palms to chest, tuck one foot inside the opposite leg.

I reach high to the sky- Stretch your arms out like branches.

I am a beautiful tree- Bring your hands together above your head.

Hold for as long as you can.

What kind of tree are you? Feel yourself growing. Bend with the wind. You are supple enough to weather any storm!

Singing

Before we finished school, we were learning to sing, "Somewhere over the Rainbow". If you can, keep learning this song with your family. This song is beautiful.

Weekly Welsh

Beth wyt ti'n hoffi (What do you like?).

Answer- Rwy'n hoffi (I like…). Or

Dw i ddim yn hoffi (I don't like).

Use words-

siocled-chocolate

oren-orange

afal-apple

bisged-biscuit

You can also use the welsh phrases but use English words that you like or dislike. For eg. Rwy'n hoffi…..sprouts.
