Literacy
To understand and revise grammar
Yesterday you would have completed an activity linked to the past tense. Have a think about what other tenses there are and see if you can give examples. e.g. present tense/ future tense. Think of 3 sentences for each. What does grammar cover? Aim for punctuation, capital letters/ full stops etc also as well as tenses and connectives etc.
On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB are grammar activities. They are revision challenge cards linked to various forms of grammar. You may choose to complete an easier activity first and when confident, move onto a harder activity. You will find a bronze, silver and gold activity.

Maths
To understand and revise various maths topics
Today is a revision session of various maths topics, which the children should be able to answer/ familiar with. They may need a bit of reminding or promoting for some. Where possible, try to use varied language for example for adding- also try to use total/ sum and take away- subtract/ minus etc so the children become familiar with the different terms.
On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB are the maths activities. They are revision activity mats linked to various topics of maths. You may choose to complete an easier activity first and when confident, move onto a harder activity. You will find a bronze, silver and gold activity. There are 2-3 differentiated versions within each activity, try to complete as many as you can- the more practice the better!

Topic
To understand the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees
Yesterday you would have hopefully estimated and measure the height and girth of trees- providing the weather was kind to you! With your data- make comparisons. How much taller was tree a compared to tree b? What was thee difference between your estimates and real measurements? Were you close?
On the Year 2 shared folder on HWB you will find the activities for today. There is a little quiz about various trees- get an adult or sibling to ask you/ give you the questions. You can try to answer them from what you know/ your tree research carried out or you may choose to research the answers. There is a powerpoint all about evergreen and deciduous trees. What is the difference? Can you give examples? There is a sorting activity to sort the given tree types onto the evergreen or deciduous mats. You can of course present this however you like.

Enjoy!
